We have had a wonderful first week back.  It was lovely to hear that everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

In English this week we have started to read ‘The Snow Spider’ written by Jenny Nimmo.  This book will form the basis of our written work this term as we will use it to develop a number of different skills.  We already have a number of questions that we answered!

In our Maths lessons we have been investigating equivalent fractions & ordering different fractions by cutting up pizzas, dividing chocolate & sharing money!  We have been changing the denominators of fractions so it is easier to order them.

In Science we have completed our Space topic and have also started to plan and discuss what we want to learn about in our new topic ‘Light’.  We have also written and built our new targets for the rest of the year and will be displaying them in the classroom to remind us of what we want to achieve.  We will be carrying on with our Tudor topics until half term as we still have a number of different things that we want to research.

Our highlight of the week was sharing how so many of us completed our christmas challenges with friends and family.  It was a fantatsic way to start the new year.
