What a fab week!

We have had a busy week in Y5.
In English this week we have been continuing to look at our ‘Story Openings’. We have self and peer assessed our work using our ‘tickled pink’ and ‘get better green’ highlighters. We took on board what our friends wrote and redrafted our openers in order to improve them.

In our Maths lessons we have been continuing our work on doubling and halving. We have focussed on showing our workings and have been checking our answers using inverse operations.
In Science we have started our new topic ‘Light’ this week. We have been looking at light sources and how shadows are formed. We really enjoyed starting our class dance this week and also having a visit from PC Chris who talked about ways to ensure we stay safe.
Without any doubt the highlight of the week was sharing our history homework with everyone in class. All the homework was of an incredibly high standard and we were blown away with creativity and ingenuity of the children’s research.
