It was brilliant to see the variety of hedgehogs that children created for their homework and they have made a fantastic display in the classroom.

The children have been very involved in our mini mammal topic and we have incorporated hedgehogs into many areas of the curriculum. They have made some fantastic posters using Publisher, designed some amazing hedgehog homes. It was brilliant to see the variety of hedgehogs that children created for their homework and they have made a fantastic display in the classroom.

The children are looking forward to a visit from Petherton Vets within the next few weeks. They will be bringing some hedgehogs to school for the children to observe and ask the experts some questions.

They have particularly enjoyed learning about bat species in Britain and have worked hard producing PowerPoints which they will present to the class after half term.

The children have written fantastic animal adventure stories and have enjoyed reading and editing each other’s work. There is some fantastic role play happening in the Wildlife Rescue Centre and they are developing their literacy and numeracy skills at the same time. They have thoroughly enjoyed sharing their experiences of hedgehog searching for their hoglogs and I can’t wait to see the finished hoglogs!
