It has been a very exciting first few weeks for our year 6 pupils; it’s hard to believe that this will be their last year in All Saints Primary School!

The children have settled in superbly into life as a year 6 pupil, taking on many responsibilities and adapting to new routines. The standard of work that the children are producing is very good and everyone is trying very hard to impress.

We have started our swimming sessions at Barry Leisure Centre and the children are already making fantastic progress. The boys are currently leading the ‘who’s ready first after swimming’ race but I’m sure the girls will claw the lead back as the sessions go on!
We also took part in a Roald Dahl day, celebrating his 100th birthday. The costumes were fantastic! We illustrated Roald Dahl Characters in the style of Quentin Blake and designed and advertised our very own Wonka Bar.’

All children across the school have been placed into their new Senedd groups and many of our year 6 pupils have been elected into Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary roles – llongyfarchiadau!
On Thursday 15th September, we will be holding house meetings to elect our new House and Vice House Captains for this year. Having looked at the children’s speeches, I’m sure that the other children will have a very tough decision decided on their new house representatives. The new house and vice captains will be announced in Friday’s celebration assembly – pob lwc i bawb!
